The things they are doing are based with very good information. From myself a victim of sexual abuse, what I find lacking with what they are teaching is "repetition."

I have seen what schools are doing to teach their children about sexual abuse. The material that they are teaching is good, but it is only taught in the most part twice K through 12. This is not saying twice a year K through 12, it is ONLY twice. The children get it once between 3rd and 5th grades. They get it once more between grades 8th and 10th. This is all! This is not nearly often enough to remove the fear and guilt that the children that experience sexual abuse has.

Coming from the perspective of a victim of sexual abuse, what the schools that teach sexual abuse in this manner only causes more harm. What I mean by this is, this form of education only gives the children the knowledge to know that what is or has happened to them is wrong. It does nothing to remove the fear and guilt that keeps them from coming forward and reporting their own experience of sexual abuse. This only will only happen through "repetition." They need to hear about this over and over again.

By only getting taught twice and letting the children learn that what is or has happened to them is wrong, you are only adding more guilt to this child. So in turn, you have only succeeded in harming the child even more.

It is only by hearing it over and over again, by seeing it again and again, will the child be able to feel comfortable enough to come forward with what is or has happened to them.

Sexual abuse is dealt with behind closed doors! Society has always dealt with sexual abuse behind closed doors. It is has been forbidden to talk about out in public. This is no longer acceptable!! We must deal and talk about sexual abuse publicly. Sexual abuse must be dealt with as we do with drugs and alcohol.

Please help me in this fight to protect our children from sexual abuse!

Larry Kramer
Founder @ President of CARE
Child Abuse Protection Requires Education

CARE Wants To Help Schools

Part of what CARE, Child Abuse Protection Requires Education, goals are, is to be able to go into schools and see what they are doing in teaching children about sexual abuse.

I would like to ask for this opportunity to due this in your school. What I do when I go into schools is to talk with health teachers and school officials to discuss the things that the school is now doing to educate their children about sexual abuse. Also to discuss if needed, what CARE can do to improve on how they teach sexual abuse in school.

I (Larry Kramer) would like to be able to come into schools and tell the children of my experience with sexual abuse. Explain to the children how it personally has affected my life. The regrets that I how have for not coming forward with what happened to me for so long. So they can see why it so important that they come forward with their own experience of sexual abuse. Also hoping that by hearing about sexual abuse from someone who personally went through it, it will remove enough the fear and quilt to be able to come forward and report what happened or is happening to them.

If you would like me to come into your school and allow me to see if I could improve your teaching of sexual abuse and/or coming into your school and talking with your children, please contact me. I certainly would welcome the chance to be able to do this for you and your school. But more importantly, I would love to be able to do this for your children's protection!

Contact me in manner of your choice.

Address: 6233 County Road 105 Byron, MN 55920
Email Address: ljk8762@fmwildblue.com
Phone #: Hm 507-775-6454 Cell # 507-208-0614

Thank you for the opportunity to help improve the safety of your children!

Larry Kramer
Founder @ President of CARE
Child Abuse Protection Requires Education

Commerials

CARE, Child Abuse Protection Requires Education, has created two 30 second commercials that we are airing on local cable (Southern Minnesota) stations as funding will allow. I would like to start off with why I have created this organization “Child Abuse Protection Requires Education” “CARE”. I was a victim of sexual abuse by a Catholic Priest when I was young. I buried this, and never told anyone for many years. In 2002, as the Catholic Church Scandal broke, I fell into deep depression. My wife told me, she was leaving me unless I got help.
I went and got help. As I am going through the healing process, I realized that I needed to do something to keep this happening to other children. I could no longer sit back and do nothing and hope someone else will take up this cause. I checked out other organizations, but I could not find one that fit as to what I see as the biggest and most effective form of greatly reducing, and possible stopping sexual abuse of our children. CARE was formed by what I see as the best chance of saving our children from sexual abuse, and from all forms of abuse.

The mission of CARE is to “Teach & Educate” children and adults about sexual abuse, as to take the fear and intimidation away from the children and put it in the hands of the abusers.

CARE wants children to fully understand that no one, no matter what power he or she has or holds, has the right to violate their bodies. We want to teach all adults how to recognize all the signs and symptoms of sexual abuse.
By accomplishing this, we will greatly reduce or even elimitate sexual abuse of our children.

To do this CARE will:

1st CARE along with the help of professional support will be going into schools, churches, religious education, daycares, etc, to find out what they are now doing to educate children about sexual abuse. Then advise them on what changes need to be made to improve the education of sexual abuse.

2nd CARE along with the help of professional support will be going into the same schools, churches, religious education, daycares, etc, and help improve thee ways they teach and educate the children. Tell them of real experiences of sexual abuse, and how it has affected our lives.

3rd CARE believes that enable to get children to completely understand and to help them relieve the fear that they have, is to hear about it often. They need to hear it repeatedly. They need to hear it in the manner that they can understand, and in a message they will listen to.
To accomplish this CARE will create advertising that will be seen and heard everywhere. It will be on and in television, radio, newspapers, magazines, etc. It will be taught everywhere children are, and in everything that they are doing.

Donations: CARE is a non-profit organization, we rely on donations to accomplish any and all our goals Your generous contribution to this wonderful cause will help save some innocent child from going through the affects of this lifelong struggle and affects from sexual abuse. It just may be your child that you save. Your donation will be tax deductible.
Donations can be sent to:
Care, Child Abuse Protection Requires Education, 6233 County Road 105, Byron MN. 55920

Thank you
Larry Kramer
Founder @ President of CARE
Child Abuse Protection Requires Education

Under Construction

We are still in the process of building this site.
